BAFTA award-winning Glasgow studio Blazing Griffin has officially revealed its latest title: Batman: Caped Crusader – Chronicles.
Developed in collaboration with Amazon Games, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, and DC Studios, the game launches today, Friday 31 July 2026, exclusively on Amazon Luna’s GameNight platform. The release coincides directly with the global premiere of Season 2 of the animated series Batman: Caped Crusader on Prime Video.
A Major Transmedia Export Success for Scottish Games
The release marks a significant milestone for both Blazing Griffin and the broader Scottish ecosystem. Having previously built an international reputation for narrative detective games based on iconic literary IP – including Agatha Christie’s Hercule Poirot and Maurice Leblanc’s Arsène Lupin – the studio has now brought one of the world’s most recognisable entertainment franchises to life from its Glasgow HQ, the first Scottish developer to do so.
Designed as a cooperative party game for 1–4 players, Batman: Caped Crusader – Chronicles leans heavily into the series’ celebrated film-noir aesthetic. Using Amazon Luna’s GameNight architecture, players can join instantly using their smartphones as controllers without requiring separate console hardware. In the UK and US, Prime Video users will be able to transition directly from watching the show to playing the game within the same application interface.
Supported by Scottish Enterprise Investment
The scale of the production highlights the strategic value of long-term technology development within Scotland. The foundation for taking on a global project of this calibre was supported by funding from Scottish Enterprise, whose investment into Blazing Griffin’s proprietary Games Toolkit enabled the team to deliver at international scale.
As a studio operating across games, film, and post-production, Blazing Griffin sits at a key junction of transmedia storytelling. The project demonstrates how Scottish development talent can interface directly with global platform holders and entertainment conglomerates to export digital creative work across 14 countries.
