Part of Glasgow Tech Week, the evening event brings together over 400 founders, creators, investors, and ecosystem builders from across Scotland’s digital, tech, and creative sectors.
Breaking Down Ecosystem Silos
Designed as an alternative to traditional daytime business conferences, TecTonic blends interactive exhibitions, business showcases, mentoring and live performances into a single collaborative evening of focused fun.
TecTonic reflects the constant movement, intersection, and evolution of ideas, innovation, and cross-sector relationships across Scotland’s tech and creative landscape. Rather than operating in isolated industry silos, TecTonic is built specifically to foster cross-pollination between tech platforms, creative industries, and supporting business networks.
For the Scottish games community, the gathering presents a direct pathway to connect with adjacent tech sectors, from real-time visualisation, cloud infrastructure, and AI tools to immersive art, funding networks, and policy leaders. This collaborative focus aligns directly with SGN’s ongoing More Than Games initiative, demonstrating how interactive design and game technologies intersect with the broader digital economy.

A Platform for Community Leadership
Founded by ecosystem builder Nick Murray, TecTonic draws together a rotating team of established and emerging Community Leaders for each event to ensure fresh perspectives and open opportunities for attendees.
Speaking on the vision behind the initiative and the partnership with the games sector, TecTonic Founder Nick Murray said:
At the heart of TecTonic are three things: community, collaboration and curiosity. They’re the values we hope people bring into the room, but they’re also the reason we actively seek out communities that sit outside our immediate orbit.
I’m not a games developer, so I’m genuinely curious about what’s happening within the games community; the ideas, the businesses, the people and the culture that make it distinctive. I often think of Scotland’s innovation ecosystem as a vast rainforest of different tribes. Each has its own language, customs and ways of working, but there are always unexpected connections between them.
That’s why we’re delighted to work with organisations like Scottish Games Network, HubWorld Scotland, Glasgow School of Art and Creative Entrepreneurs Club. They each open a door into a community that we might not otherwise encounter, and bring those people into the wider TecTonic conversation.
For me, that’s what innovation is really about. Not everyone doing the same thing, but creating the conditions for people doing very different things to discover each other, learn from each other and occasionally create something neither could have built alone.
