The GTA V rumour mill went up a notch this week, with news that Take Two has arranged a casting call for an as yet undisclosed project, known only by the codename ‘Rush’.
It’s widely surmised that Rush is the next installment in the Grand Theft Auto franchise and that the game will be set in LA/Hollywood.
According to Gamesindustry, the casting call mentions characters including: “wise cracking FBI agent” Mitch Hayes, “creepy white trash hillbilly” Clyde, “Welsh monk/cult leader/yoga teacher” Brother Adam, “swinger and Californian divorcee” Mrs Bell, “weed evangelist” Ediie, “fat, FPS playing gamer” Kevin De Silva and “Armenian car dealer and moneylender” Harut Vartanyan.
In addition, Take Two’s recent registration of domains including: CashForDeadDreams.com, SixFigureTemps.com, StopPayingYourMortgage.net. HammersteinFaust.com and LifeInvader.com points to GTA’s now familiar tongue-in-cheek approach to companies within the game.
The most recent Grand Theft Auto title (IV) has now sold 20,000,000 copies, according to a sale figures from Take Two earlier this week.
This takes the overall sales of the franchise to 100,000,000 since the original games was launched in November 1997.
