Glasgow Games Talks is a new evening event taking place on Thursday July 7th 2022, which brings together an eclectic variety of speakers from across the games ecosystem, talking about everything from gamepoetry, to game design based upon sound.
Organised by the Glasgow Videogames meetup group, aka Joe Bain, the developer behind the Southside Games Festival, which took place in May 2022.
Glasgow Games Talks will take place at the new Baclays campus on Glasgow’s South side. The event is free to attend and refreshments will be provided.
The programme for the evening starts at 19:00 and runs until 21:00. Speakers include:
Calum Rodger – Gamepoetry
Calum is a game designer, academic and poet. He will be talking about his work for the Scottish Book Trust, the similarties between games and poetry, and GTAV machinima.
Shelby Smith
Shelby is a multi-disciplinary artist creating immersive video games with a focus on thoughtful and unconventional narratives and aesthetic.
Sean Soraghan – Game Design from the Sound Up
Audio programmer and designer Sean will be taking us through his latest project – designing a game based on sound recordings.
Networking And Demo Space
There will be space for networking and some room to show demos or prototypes before and after the talks. If you are interested in giving a talk at this event or future events please message the organisers.
