Women in Games has announced details of its new, expanded Women in Games Global Festival 2021, taking place virtually – across all your devices – from September 6th to 18th.
The Women in Games Global Festival 2021 is a first of its kind, inviting women within the games ecosystem and their allies from across the world to gather in the digital Women in Games Galaxy for a collaboration of community and industry partners that will provide a universe of entertaining, informative and inspiring celestial experiences.
The Festival will encompass:
Launch Event
Taking place on the evening of Monday September 6th, the Launch event will be hosted via the Hopin platform and will allow delegates to network and enjoy entertainment. This event is free to attend. Simply register your interest using the subject line: Launch Event.
Women In Games Conference
The Women in Games Conference will once again sit at the heart of the Festival. Internationally established and respected, the Conference will Inspire, Engage and Educate, focusing on our four Key Pillars of:-
- Community
- Industry
- Education
- Policy
The two-day Conference will be broadcast and scheduled to suit all major time zones, allowing Women in Games around the world to tune in to inspirational speakers, fireside chats, panels, stories on day one.
And on day two visit the Expo Booths to connect to community groups, studios and businesses. Learn something new in our learning labs and network with a global community.

Women in Games Global Awards
For 10 years, the Women in Games Awards have played a vital role in recognising the talent and achievements of women throughout the industry. For 2021, they have been expanded to cover Video Games Awards, Women In Games Community Awards, Women in Games Education Awards, Women in Games Lifetime Achievement Awards, plus Gaming & Esports Awards.
Finalists will be announced on August 13th, with the Awards Ceremony taking place virtually via the Hopin platform on Saturday September 18th.

Women in Games Jam
Women in Games is delighted to once again collaborate with Into Games on this year’s Side Quest Games Jam, which will take place from Wednesday September 8th-15th. The week-long jam will feature livestreams with industry professionals to help participants in their game-making journey.

Esports Tournament
In 2020, Women in Games co-hosted its first ever esports Tournament to great success. It’s back for 2021, taking place over the weekend of September 11th & 12th. If you’d like to get involved, get in touch using the subject line: Esports Tournament.
Satellite Events
Importantly, the Women in Games Global Festival in 2021 will open up to companies and organisations across the games and esports sectors to host Satellite Events during the Festival fortnight.
This is an opportunity for those organisations to directly interact with women in games and esports around the world. These events will include Webinars, Roundtable Discussions, Networking, Wellbeing Sessions, Live-Testing, Open Studio Days, Cosplay, DJs & Entertainment, Virtual Quizzes & Competitions and more!
