The UK Game of the Show and EuroPlay competitions are back for 2021 and they’re looking for your game.
Our friends at UKIE (and sponsors MCV/Develop and Kwalee) are looking for the best unreleased game in the UK, to champion as the UK Game of the Show at the 2021 Gamescom.
The winning title will then become the UK entrant in the EuroPlay competition, which brings together the best games from across the continent, to find the best unreleased title in Europe.
In 2020, three games from Scotland – SOLAS 128, Drive Buy, and Monstrum 2 – made it into the finals of the competition, with Monstrum 2 walking off with the silverware.
Entries are open until Wednesday 21st July, so get your games in NOW.
UK Game of the Show
The competition is looking for 15 unreleased games from developers across the whole of the country. The games which make it to the final will battle it out in an online live show – hosted by Mr Midas – hosted at the Loading Bar in London. The winner will be decided by public vote, with the viewers tuning in on Twitch, YouTube and social media picking the winner.
The live final (supported by event partner Moore Kingston Smith) will take place on Tuesday 24th August.
The UK Game of the Show winner will then do battle in the grand final of the Europlay contest on Thursday 26th August, where it will go head to head with the best unreleased games from nations across Europe and Australia.
“We’re delighted to be hosting UK Game of the Show and Europlay once again. The world of games comes together in August to discover what will be captivating players for years to come and we’re proud to help showcase bright, often unrecognised talent, from the UK and beyond.”Dr Jo Twist OBE – COE, UKIE
