The Unreal Fellowship is an intensive, online, 30-day workshop for experienced industry professionals to learn Unreal Engine, master state-of-the-art virtual production tools, and develop the skills to build teams proficient in the emerging field of real-time production.
Real-Time Production?
Real-time production is revolutionizing film and television pipelines across the globe. Whether it’s virtual production techniques that empower filmmakers to explore ever-more ambitious ideas, or final-frame animations rendered in real time for episodic TV and commercials, the way linear media content is created is changing.
For example, Glasgow’s multi-award-winning animation powerhouse Axis has an entire real-time team, working on projects including their recent trailer for Magic The Gathering: Theros: Beyond Death.
With notoriously busy schedules, film, animation, and VFX professionals may find it challenging to invest the time required to make the transition from traditional pipelines to real-time production.
To help these storytellers extend their skill sets and embrace this brave new world, Epic Games is launching the Unreal Fellowship.
The Fellowship provides $10,000 in financial assistance to each participant to ensure they are able to dedicate ample time to complete the rigorous curriculum.
Learn From Leaders
Top VFX veterans will be joined by guest speakers in hands-on sessions that teach Unreal Engine fundamentals, model ingestion, animation, mocap integration, lookdev, lighting setups, and cinematic storytelling.
With a strong focus on practical work, participants will learn real-time workflows through the production of animated content and other projects. Fellows will have direct access to trainers with weekly team mentor sessions, a weekly four-hour open lab, and a dedicated Slack channel with specific hours for help.
