Glasgow School of Art – Open Evening


Glasgow School of Arts Digital Design Studio is holding an open evening on Wednesday 17th of February.

The event is an opportunity to visit the GSA’s Digital Design Studio, tour facilities and meet academic staff involved with the following Masters programmes:

  • MSc International Heritage Visualisation
  • MSc Medical Visualisation and Human Anatomy
  • MSc Serious Games Development
  • MDes Sound for the Moving Image

The programme for the open evening is as follows:

5:30pm: Open

5:45pm: Daniel Livingstone, Programme Leader at the DDS, gives a whirlwind introduction to the research and the Masters courses on offer in the DDS.

6.15pm: Matthieu Poyade, Research Fellow in Virtual Reality. Learn about the DDS’ involvement in the latest cutting edge developments in Medical Visualisation, haptics and immersive experience.

6.45-7.30pm: Split into groups to discuss the degree programmes and for tours and demonstrations of the facilities. Be surrounded in sound in the ambisonic SoundLab, have a go at the haptic-arm, put on goggles to immerse yourself in a virtual world, listen to cinematic sound in the dubbing suites. Informally chat to staff about their experience and view recent student work.

7.30pm: End

The DDS is located at The Hub, in Glasgow’s Pacific Quay.
