A numerical thought for the day from Unite 2013.
It’s taken 35 years for the PC to go from the first Apple to ‘peak PC’ in 2012 which saw 1.5 billion units sold.
Depending on how you count some of the early handsets, the smartphone market has gone from zero sales (2002 ish) to 2 billion handsets by the end of this year.
In just ten years. And while the PC numbers are dropping, smartphone sales are on course to ship 6 billion handsets in 2018.
So, just checking, everyone has a mobile strategy, yes?
