The Scottish Game Jam is a 48 hour game development marathon which takes place every January, as part of the larger Global Game Jam, which pulls in teams and individuals over over the world, competing to make a new game in only two days.
Scotland’s Game Jam has taken place in Glasgow Caledonian University for the last several years and has grown to be one of the largest jams within the competition.
In 2012, the Game Jam pulled in a record number of developers – 120 people, who between them created 29 games, one of which was the BAFTA-nominated Shplem, created by Former Droid games.
For 2013, the game jam has doubled its capacity and is now taking place on the East and West coasts simultaneously. Teams competing at Glasgow Caledonian university will be joined by teams competing at The Pleasance in central Edinburgh.
Despite the huge increase in space, places are going fast. If you want to take part in the world’s biggest games jam, apply now.
