In the 1980s there were legends about a video game called “Killswitch” that was cursed and, if played, it would kill everyone in the room – We’ve got a copy. And we’re going to play it. Live.
Playthrough – the interactive stage play about the cursed videogame Killswitch and the two people who play it – hits the Ayr Gaiety Theatre in February 2024.
Join friends Biggs and Wedge as they play Killswitch and recount the most chilling digital myths ever told. The audience will choose which haunting tales to hear and ultimately what will happen to players one and two.
Playthrough is a spooky interactive play that explores the darkness and addiction that lurk at the heart of our seemingly innocent playthings.
Written and performed by Kenny Boyle (author of The Tick And The Tock Of The Crocodile Clock) and joined by Karen Bartke (Officer Karen from Scot Squad, also Sandman, Doctor Who and a whole lot of others… ) Playthrough runs from the 8th to the 10th of February as part of Oran Mor’s A Play, A Pie & A Pint series.
Shows run at 12:00 and 18:00 each day and – as the name suggests – pies and pints (drinks) are also included.
