OUT NOW: Rise Of The Village Hero On Steam Early Access

PC Title is the first release from new Glasgow-based indie studio Ludus Pax

Rise Of The Village Hero is a new role-playing game for PC which is available now on Steam Early Access. The game is the first release from Glasgow-based indie studio Ludus Pax.

Described as an ‘indie RPG’, players step into the shoes of Guy, a hunter returning home to find his village in flames. Guy must not only find those responsible but help prevent the return of a dark goddess, by finding the shards of a shattered crystal concealed throughout the kingdom and save the Kingdom of Dobroja.

Rise of the Village Hero features and mechanics

• Loot Acquisition: Attack monsters and explore levels to discover valuable loot, enhancing your inventory
• Combat Dynamics: Wield power to vanquish foes and dominate your adversaries
• Narrative Depth: Dialogues and quests drive compelling storytelling throughout the game
• Economic Interactions: Visit stores to trade, sell your acquired items or upgrade equipment by buying new items
• Character Progression: As you level up, allocate attribute points to bolster health, armour, and gain special discounts at shops through charisma upgrades
• Strategic Exploration: Utilise a dynamic camera to survey the terrain, make strategic decisions and access seemingly unreachable areas with ease, like clicking on the other side of a wall

Introducing Ludus Pax

Founded in November 2023, Ludus Pax Studios is a solo studio founded and led by Silviu Soare, a dedicated game developer and third-year student at the University of the West of Scotland (UWS).

Silviu told the Scottish Games Network:

Ludus Pax Studios has the main mission to release passion-driven indie games at an affordable price. The immediate plan of the studio is to complete the first commercial release, ‘Rise of the Village Hero,’ -which is currently launched in Early Access on Steam- within 1-2 years. During this period, I will allocate time to market research and prototyping for the next project of the studio.

Looking ahead, the goal for my studio for the next 3-5 years is to achieve sustainability and foster growth.
