Scottish AAA developer Build a Rocket Boy have just announced plans to open a new studio in Montpellier in 2023.
This is the company’s third location, after Edinburgh and Budapest, and is a tactical move by directors to create a talent centre in France, and attract the experienced staff required to bring Everywhere, their ambitious debut project, to fruition by its planned release date in 2023.
Veteran’s Guild
Several such veteran developers have already agreed to be part of the studio upon its opening, according to Everywhere’s Game Director, and former President of Rockstar North, Leslie Benzies: “I am thrilled to have these fantastic industry veterans heading up our Montpellier studio, the talent in the Montpellier area that has been joining us over the past year has taken Everywhere to a whole new level. Putting down roots and opening an office in France will dramatically expand our footprint and is the next natural step in Build A Rocket Boy’s evolution.”
