Games and digital media PR company, Dimoso, has opened a new Scottish branch. Based in Edinburgh, the new team will focus on supporting the 150+ games creators across Scotland, as well as the larger and more diverse range of organisations across the games ecosystem.
The company has secured its first client, working with the team behind the first ever Scottish Games Week to support, promote and champion the event which takes place from October 24th – 28th across the whole country.
The company is opening its first Scottish office at a point where the games sector in Scotland is at a point of transformation. The Scottish Tech Ecosystem Review (STER) programme from the Scottish government is supporting Scottish Games Week, as well as the creation of a national network of ‘tech scalers’, delivered by CodeBase, which will focus upon creating more digital startups (including games) and helping those companies grow and scale.
Dimoso, a creative and innovative all-service communications agency, was founded by leading industry figure Jacki Vause in 2011. Determined and driven to deliver impeccable results for its clients, the firm has worked with an impressive array of games industry powerhouses such as Rovio, Disney and Warner Brothers.
The Scotland office will be led by Dimoso’s Scotland Manager and Account Director, Lisa Bennett. Lisa is a seasoned PR professional with nine years of experience in the field, leading high-profile accounts across the worlds of gaming, tech, entertainment, tourism and hospitality.
Jacki Vause, CEO and Founder of Dimoso said:
It’s an incredibly exciting time for the games industry in Scotland. It’s a country that has an incredibly rich video games history, with the likes of DMA Design and Rockstar, but now is the time it is truly levelling up. We’re thrilled to be opening an office in Edinburgh, and to have Scottish Games Week on board as the perfect first client! We look forward to supporting Scottish game developers to enhance and grow their profile for the whole world to see.
Taking place this autumn, Scottish Games Week will showcase the talent and value of the games ecosystem in Scotland, making Dimoso the perfect partner. With events across Scotland in hubs like Dundee, Glasgow and Edinburgh, to the Highlands and the Scottish Borders. Each event is set to tackle a different aspect of games, with the key goal being to shed light on promoting games as ‘Scotland’s secret weapon‘ – a vibrant, thriving and viable addition to the country’s rapidly evolving tech sector and creative industries. A vision that is shared by the team at Dimoso.
Brian Baglow, founder of the Scottish Games Network and the organiser of Scottish Games Week said:
We’re thrilled to have a team as dedicated, knowledgeable and creative as those at Dimoso to partner with us on the first-ever Scottish Games Week. The team’s passion for games and enthusiasm for the event really shines through. We know that having them on board is going to take SGW to the next level. The fact that Dimoso is establishing itself in Scotland shows that the industry is at a point of real change and is something they are truly passionate about. I can’t wait to see what comes next.
Fantastic news and so well deserved. Lisa and the team are doing a superb job!
