Entries have opened for Herald Digital Transformation Awards 2022.
2020 saw businesses adapting quickly and without hesitation, which has helped the process of digital transformation across all sectors.
The awards recognise and reward Scottish businesses from across all industries and sectors which are using digital technology in new and innovative ways. This can be to benefit clients and customers, grow the business, deliver innovative digital campaigns, or completely change the way they are working on a daily basis. The awards also recognise the extraordinary individuals who are setting trends, showing passion and creativity, and making a significant contribution to their sector.
Entries are open until July 14th 2022.
The categories in the Herald Digital Transformation Awards 2022 are:
Best use of Technology in Healthcare Award
This category will recognise an organisation that has made exceptional use of digital technology to ensure or enhance healthcare. The judges are looking for an organisation that can demonstrate how this use of technology has benefitted customers in both the short and long-term.
Best use of Technology in Education Award
This award will be given to an organisation that has made exceptional use of digital technology to promote learning. This could be a school, higher education institution or group that has used technology in a creative and innovative way to ensure other people have access to education.
Best use of Technology in the Third Sector Award
This award will be presented to an organisation that is using digital technology to drive social good in Scotland and beyond. The judges are looking for charities, voluntary organisations and social enterprises where innovative digital projects have resulted in real and meaningful engagement with the people they work with.
Digital Professional of the Year Award
This category will recognise the best digital, media or creative professional. The individual will demonstrate technical and creative expertise as well as commercial success for their team or business.
Digital Young Person of the Year Award – sponsored by Glasgow City Innovation District
This award will go to a young person, under the age of 25, who is showing passion and creativity with digital technology. The judges are looking for someone whose fantastic and innovative use of technology is contributing to their employer, expanding their own business or is putting them above and beyond in their education.
Digital Marketing Campaign Award
This award will be presented to an organisation that has run an exceptional and successful digital marketing campaign to raise awareness, increase revenue or promote a product or service. This can be through the use of social media, digital advertising and other means of viral communication.
Digital Community Award
This award will go to an individual, group or organisation which has used technology to help their local community. Judges are looking for examples of how the use of this technology supported and brought the local community together.
Digital Diversity Award – sponsored by Be-IT
This category will award an organisation that has used digital technology to ensure diversity and inclusion. The organisation must demonstrate how the use of technology has made daily life for their employees or customers more accessible and promoted inclusion and diversity.
Business Growth Award
This award will be given to an organisation that demonstrates the successful use of technology to grow their business. This can include growth in terms of revenue, staffing and customer base.
Innovative use of Technology Award
This category will recognise an organisation that is leading the way with new technologies. We are looking for an organisation who has adapted an existing, or implemented a new technology to overcome a specific issue that was apparent within the business. We will be looking for evidence of how this has, or will be able to, make a positive impact.
Digitally Transformed Business Award
This award will be given to a business that can demonstrate an exceptional progression in using digital technology in their daily practices. This could be an organisation from any sector or industry that can demonstrate how they are using technology in a new and innovative way, how it has benefitted staff and customers, and how it has contributed to the success of the business. This award is not open for entry and will be decided by the judging panel based on submissions within other categories.
The Awards Ceremony
The Herald Digital Transformation Awards 2022 will take place on Thursday 25th August in Glasgow. The evening includes an arrival drink, three course meal, half bottle of wine, entertainment and the awards presentation. There is also the fantastic opportunity to network with other attendees from across all industries in Scotland that are embracing digital transformation. The event will be hosted by broadcaster and journalist, Catriona Shearer.
