The Big Indie Awards 2021 celebrate the best indie developers and their work While the competition normally takes in multiple conferences, in countries around the world, this year’s event will take place entirely online.
How does it work?
ALL indie developers can submit their game through the online entry form You don’t even have to be an indie developer to nominate a game, any indie title you love you can support with a nomination.
All nominations will be considered in a first-round judging process involving some of the finest industry experts, this will whittle entries down to an initial ‘shortlist’ which will then be shared online.
A combination of the gaming audience and our expert industry voting panel will then cast their votes to decide the ultimate winners, who will be announced at a live online ceremony in mid-December 2021.
Who can enter?
- Games for Mobile and AR are eligible for the Mobile Awards
- Switch, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PC, Mac and Linux are eligible for the PC+Console Awards
- Where the category is multi-platform, everyone is welcome!
Games must have been released after September 2020 in order to qualify, or scheduled to launch in the next six months.
To be considered eligible your core studio must typically have less than 12 members (although the organisers may make exceptions if there’s strong enough case)
The deadline to submit games is 00:00 (midnight) on Monday November 1st 2021.
The shortlist including further details of the awards and how to vote for the winners, will be revealed on the 5th November.
