Abertay Scoops Three Trophies in Games Education Awards

Abertay University has picked up three trophies in the 2021 UK Games Education Awards, organised by TIGA.

The university won the Excellence in Games Research, for the InGAME innovation centre, the Best Talent Development Initiative for Dare Academy, while the awesome Professor Ruth Falconer won the Diversity Award.

The awards recognise outstanding students, education providers and best practice, with the winners being recognised in a virtual ceremony.

  • Excellence in Games Research 2021: InGame, Abertay University
  • Diversity Award 2021: Professor Ruth Falconer, Abertay University
  • Best Student Business 2021: Wordplay Games, London College of Communications
  • Best Talent Development Initiative 2021: Dare Academy, Abertay University
  • Outstanding Contribution to Games Education and Training: Emma Smith, Creative Assembly
  • The Creative Assembly Best Student Game 2021: Crypt by Will Murray, University of Hertfordshire

The TIGA UK Games Education Awards are all about promoting excellence:  excellent students, excellent universities and excellent educational practices. Congratulations to all of our fantastic finalists and especially to our wonderful winners. It’s fantastic to see such a high calibre of winners recognised in this year’s awards and we are looking forward to seeing what they achieve next. Through our Legacy Project, we’ll be working with the student and graduate winners, providing expert mentorship and supporting them on their next steps as they further excel in the games industry.
