Abertay University Ranked as Europe’s Best for Games Courses

The Princeton Review recently ranked Dundee’s Abertay University as the best in Europe for video games related courses. The report commends Abertay’s ‘state-of-the-art’ facilities and ‘superlative’ teaching staff. This is the seventh year running that the Dundee-based university has been named Europe’s best for gaming courses.

As well as being ranked the best in in Europe, Abertay was praised on a global scale. The university was placed within the top ten postgraduate courses in the world and in the top 20 for undergraduate courses.

The Princeton Review’s Editor-in-Chief, Rob Franek, praised Abertay along with other schools in the rankings saying:

The schools on our 2021 lists all offer standout programs for students considering careers in game design.

Their faculties are superlative. Their facilities are state-of-the-art. Their alumni include many of the video game industry’s most prominent artists, designers, developers, and entrepreneurs.

This is a busy time for Abertay as they have also recently announced their support of the upcoming 5G innovation hub in Dundee, as well as the 4,000 seat Esports Arena scheduled for 2024

With Abertay’s close ties to the games industry, locally and nationwide, it is not hard to see why they are consistently ranked among the world’s best universities for education in videogames.
