Xpo North 2020: Creative Collaboration

Xpo North 2020: Creative Collaboration

XPO North is one of the country’s best-kept secrets. The creative industries festival takes place over two days in Inverness and covers everything from music and film, to fashion, publishing and videogames.

It’s always fascinating, full of interesting people and features an incredible line-up of speakers, panels and opportunities to learn about the evolution of our creative world.

The 2020 XPO North festival takes place on the 24th & 25th of June.

This year, the festival is of course taking place entirely online. Over two days, there will be a series of seminars and speakers, looking at a delightfully eclectic range of topics.

Thanks to the impact of Covid-19 and the ongoing lockdown, many of the sessions have a focus on digital technology, virtual working and online engagement, which should be of interest to game designers, developers and leaders alike.

Notable sessions this year include:

Meet The Support Agencies

A fantastic opportunity to hear from another 4 of our national agencies. Creative Scotland, Historic Environment Scotland, Museum and Galleries Scotland and VisitScotland will give a valuable insight about who they are and how they can help or work with you. This session will be particularly valuable to anyone working in Creative Industries, heritage and tourism.

Speakers: Alison Turnbull, Joe Traynor, Chris Taylor, Clive Gillman.

Selling, Conversion & Building Brand Identity Online

In this highly practical session, award winning speaker and author, Daniel Rowles, will guide you through the practical steps to selling online. The session will explore each stage of the conversion funnel, from building awareness, driving engagement, conversion to sale, and ongoing loyalty.

Using free and low costs tools throughout, attendees will leave with practical skills they can take away and use straight away to implement an online sales plan, and to address the challenges created by vastly reduced visitor numbers.

Leading Virtual Teams

The meaning of leadership and team building are evolving as remote working and home offices are growing. Meet two women at the head of this brave new world, Annie Stone (Bookbub) and Parul Vakani (WorkStream Solutions), as they talk openly about leading remote teams, adapting to this new normal – and strategies they’ve learned to succeed.

Tickets for the festival are available now. They’re free and give access to the full two day programme.
