Is There Anybody Out There?

How many games companies are there in Scotland?

As I write this, the Company Directory page on the Scottish Games Network website (the single most popular page on the site) shows around 50 game developers across Scotland.

Our Freelance Directory shows 19 freelancers currently active in the sector.

Who are we missing? If you run a company, which makes games, or supports the games industry, which is NOT listed in our Directory, we want to hear from you.

This isn’t just for limited companies. If you’re an independent developer, a part-time studio, or a team which has released games, we want to hear from you.

If you’re a freelancer, offering services of value to companies in the games industry (it doesn’t have to be a creative service, business services as welcome too…), likewise let us know.

Our goal is to reflect the whole of the games industry here in Scotland, in its broadest possible definition.

In the near future, we’re going to be adding esports listings (teams, events, organisations…), influencers (Twitch/Remix streamers, YouTubers, podcasters, etc.) and gamification resources (it’s an actual thing, it’s important, trust us…)

If we’re missing anything, if you’d like to be listed SOMEWHERE on the site, if you want to argue about definitions, categorisation, or even challenge a listing, then do please let us know.

This is the first stage in a complete site overhaul. We’re currently using a very basic WordPress template, running on a low level account. In the near future we’ll be upgrading, redesigning and adding entirely new content.

From company profiles, to podcasts, live online events and streamed masterclasses, SGN will be going multimedia.

In the meantime, let us know who you think is missing from our directories.

  1. Hi Brian

How are you doing in these weird times? I hope things are good for you. It has been a strange year for sure and a bit hectic here but would be great to catchup at some point.

    Take care Helen
