AI In Videogames: Edinburgh Science Festival

As part of the entirely virtual 2020 Edinburgh Science Festival, the Royal Society of Edinburgh (RSE) asked several entrepreneurs and business leaders to answer questions about the ways in which artificial intelligence is changing their industry.

Chris van der Kuyl, the chair of 4J Studios was the man chosen for the games sector. Over 25 minutes he answers questions  and explored areas such as:

  • How AI is used with games
  • Have advances in hardware allowed developers to push the boundaries of AI?
  • Chris’s views on the ‘paperclip theory’
  • Will AI hurt future developers or become another tool

If you’re interested in all things artificially intelligent, you can also see Shannon Valor exploring the ethics of AI on the same channel.
