Good news everybody! Ruffian Games in Dundee is hiring. Better yet, the studio is hiring people to work on games for Rockstar.
Ruffian is advertising multiple vacancies for engineers. The studio is looking for senior, UI, systems, graphics, gameplay scripting and people with “generalised experience in multiplayer action games developed for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and future platforms.” at junior and senior levels.
(This being Rockstar, there’s not a huge amount of information available on exactly which titles, or indeed which platforms, but given Rockstar’s portfolio, it should be reasonably simple to make an educated guess or two…)
Ruffian has confirmed that these are permanent positions, for games which are currently in production, and the studio will be looking for more people in other disciplines in the near future.
If you’ve not come across Ruffian before, the studio is responsible for a wide range of work on VR and well-known triple-A console games, including RADtv, Crackdown 2, Nike+ Kinect Training, Star Wars Kinect and Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
Ruffian has also released original new titles such as the well-received, fast-paced, twin-stick shooter, Fragmental.
The studio has promised to let us know when new vacancies open up, so keep an eye on Scottish Games Network for the latest updates and opportunities.
