There’s a brand new event, focusing on animation, taking place in Edinburgh later this month.
The Move Animation Summit is working with the majority of Scotland’s animation studios to create an event which celebrates the success of the country’s animation sector, as well as supporting new and emerging talent.
Move takes place on Thursday February 23rd, at White Space in King’s Stables Road in central Edinburgh.
The summit is split into two parts. The morning is focused on new talent, with speakers, panelists and presentations from the animation industry, combined with networking and a chance to have your portfolio reviewed by an animation professional.
The afternoon brings some of the UK’s most innovative and successful studios, focusing on new and emerging trends including, of course, virtual reality.
Keynote speakers from companies including officially awesome SGN friends Axis Animation, Red Knuckles, 59 Productions and Animation Centrifuge are already confirmed, with many more to follow.
To make it even more attractive, there’s an after party taking place at the Mash House, where VR installations and interactive DJs will be present, bringing the whole event to a glorious conclusion.
Tickets start from as little as £10 (for the emerging talent event) and are described as ‘going fast’.
The Move Summit has been organised by a small team of people from the Scottish animation industry, who want to create a new event which will benefit and support the whole sector. It’s a fantastic project which needs our love and support (and shows what the games sector should be doing…)
You can find the Move Summit online, on Facebook and on Twitter. Please like, share and tell the world about this rather awesome new event.
The Scottish Games Network has partnered with the Move Animation Summit to support the event and promote it to our members/readers/you lot…
