The Cultural Enterprise Office in Scotland has organised an event to explore the ongoing evolution of digital distribution, with a focus on the games and music industries.
Unlimited Shelf Space offers a real mix of speakers and experts from both sectors – and the wider creative industries and should be incredibly valuable for game developers (both amateur and professional), music artists, composers and creators of all kinds.
Here’s the summary:
Join a panel of speakers from the games and music sectors to explore the creative and business challenges and opportunities when distributing your content digitally.
Games are an inherently digital format, with many game makers opting to release their games directly to players via the myriad channels available. This means the developer is often the publisher, marketer and salesman, learning the skills they need to build their audience and raise awareness of their games. In the music industry digital has disrupted the traditional publisher model and continues to do so. Songwriters, musicians and bands are self-publishing and building a solid following with their fans online and via social media.
Bringing together these two sector perspectives will provide an insight into the similarities and differences of the other’s digital distribution methods and strategies; highlighting disruption, innovation and rewards resulting from risks.
This event is for creators, publishers and distributors of content wanting to develop their digital distribution approach, amplifying reach to their customers, make sales and firmly place their product or service on the unlimited shelf space digital offers.
The event will be chaired by Amanda Millen, Director, ScreenHI & goNORTH Festival and our experienced panellists from the games and music industries will include:
- David Thomson, Founder of Ludometrics and Cultural Enterprise Office Specialist Games and Apps Adviser
- Ronnie Gurr, music industry veteran, Cultural Enterprise Office Specialist Music Industry Adviser and Apprenticeships & Training Manager, Creative & Cultural Skills (Scotland)
- Andrew Mulholland, Director, Hunted Cow Studios Ltd
More panelists will be announced shortly.
