District 10, the brand new shipping-container based office space in city’s Seabraes Yard is now open for business. This could be good news for the city’s growing number of development studios and micro-game developers, offering an alternative to the normally high-priced office space.
Aimed at start-up and young companies in the creative industries, offers dedicated office space with communal kitchen and meeting space. The entire structure has been created using recycled shipping containers and offers power, data and 24-hour access.
There’s no word on the costs for the office, inclusivity of services etc.
There are fifteen office spaces to let, housing around four people each. The first of these has gone to the seriously cool, design-driven luggage company Lat_56. The other offices are now up for grabs. Contact Scottish Enterprise to find out more…
District 10 has been jointly funded by Scottish Enterprise, the European Regional Development Fund, Tayside charity Matthew Trust and the Scottish government.
If the price is right and with another eight blocks potentially on the drawing board, District 10 could very quickly make Dundee the prime location for new development studios in the rapidly evolving interactive industry.
