The Courier, independent broadsheet of note for the globally acknowledged tech cluster of Dundee has teamed up with accountancy wizards Henderson Loggie has launched a Business Awards competition, aimed at companies operating within it’s ‘patch’ of Dundee, Tayside, Fife, Clackmannanshire, Angus, Perthshire and Means (look it up).
The competition is aimed at finding local businesses in a number of categories:
- tourism
- agriculture
- digital
- retail
- life sciences
- manufacturing
Let us ponder the Digital category for the moment, as it concerns many of the readers of this blog, members of the community and visitors of note.
They like games. Games, games, games. They namecheck Lemmings and mention how wonderfully well Abertay is doing these days.
Then they get more specific. If you are a games company, or whatever size, experience or ilk, then you should consider entering. If you’re in and around the catchment area and you’re interested in entering (and you should be), then the awards fellows would like it is you are able to demonstrate some or all of the following performance criteria:
- differentiation and innovation – pushing the boundaries and gaining competitive advantage
- commercial success and growth
- training and local links
- achievement against business goals
It’s free to enter and you can find the actual entry from here (warning: business information required).
Entries are open now. The awards will be handed out at an appropriately glittering, star-spangled and high profile ceremony at the Fairmont Hotel in St Andrews on November 1st 2013.
