From yesterday’s Venturebeat: Apple’s App Store has hit the 1,000,000 apps mark, according to social app discovery company Appsfire, with more than 30,000 Apps being submitted to Apple each and every month.
The App store launched in July 2008. In October 2012, Apple CEO Tim Cook said that over 35 BILLION apps had been downloaded to date, with Apple paying developers over $6.5 billion in return.
Google’s Android platform is a huge distance behind with over 700,000 apps now live on Google Play and an estimated 17,000 new apps being submitted on a monthly basis.
Android now commands a 75% share of the mobile market.
