Dare ProtoPlay – August 12-14 – DUNDEE CITY CENTRE

ProtoPlay is the culmination of the whole Dare to be Digital competition.  It’s a three day celebration of games, gaming and creativity.  The teams which have competed over the previous ten weeks, have three days to demonstrate their prototypes to the public, gather votes and impress the hell out of the industry judges.

Around this core, there is a whole festival of gaming goodness.  In previous years, ProtoPlay has featured many of the world’s leading developers showing off their new games, workshops, lectures and talks on everything from getting into videogames, through to new technologies and games.

Over the last few years, ProtoPlay has taken place in central Edinburgh, as part of the city-wide Festival and Fringe Festival.  In 2011 however, ProtoPlay is coming home, to Dundee.

From the 12th-14th of August, Dare to be Digital ProtoPlay will be taking over Dundee city centre and giving visitors the chance to participate in a huge range of events – as well as playing a bunch of very fine games.

The programme is currently being put together and the Dare organisers are promising ‘big things’ for the event’s first year in Dundee.

If you’re interested in getting involved, the event is looking for volunteers to help organise and make things happen.  You can find out more about volunteering here.

To keep an eye on the programme as it’s put in place, you can find Dare to be Digital on Facebook.  Or, if you prefer, follow things on Twitter.
