The Rusty Hammer Kickstarter campaign is now live. If you’ve not yet come across Rusty Hammer, it is an idle clicker game set in the same universe as Rise of the Village Hero, the first commercial release from Ludus Pax Studios. The game is titled after the blacksmith shop that Ricker – the first NPC you meet in Rise of the Village Hero, who gives you the tutorial quests – purchases years before the events of the original RPG.
Kickstarter Campaign
Ludus Pax (aka solo-developer Silviu Soare has launched a crowdfunding campaign to help continue the adventures of the adventurous blacksmith, Ricker and his efforts to build his own blacksmith’s forge.
With a modest £400 goal, the Rusty Hammer Kickstarter campaign is open until March 20th 2025 and is already more than 25% on the way, with over a month to go.
About Rusty Hammer:
Welcome to the Rusty Hammer, a blacksmith shop very famous in the city of Warlington! But it wasn’t always this renowned. The story begins with Ricker, the first NPC players meet in Rise of the Village Hero, who provides the game’s tutorial dialogue. Ricker had long dreamed of opening his own blacksmith shop, so he took the leap and bought an old, dilapidated inn overrun by brigands and infested with rats.
Despite these challenges, Ricker was determined to transform this run-down place into his dream shop. With only worn tools and barely a bench to sit on, he began his journey to build the Rusty Hammer.
Future Plans
The game is currently in early alpha (version 0.1), offering roughly 5-10 minutes of gameplay. You will find three upgrade tiers, a working UI, and a pause UI with a quit function. The aim is to continue releasing updates with more upgrades, additional tiers, and enhancements to create a richer gaming experience.
Silviu is also working on creating more of the in-game assets, such as new hammers and props, to add personality and depth to the blacksmith shop.
