Scottish Marketing Expert Neonhive Joins The CULT

CULT Games, the independent game publisher has acquired Neonhive, the leading Scottish games marketing agency with Neonhive founder Korina Abbott becoming Chief Operating Officer of the company, alongside CEO Helen Burnhill.

Neonhive, known for its innovative marketing campaigns and strong industry connections, has collaborated with a wide range of developers, from independent studios to AAA publishers, on titles such as PUBG, Crow Country, The Room series, and Warhammer Skulls.

Neonhive is also the driving force behind the incredible fundraising for Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity, through the first-ever Scottish games Steam sale, which helped raise over £100,000 and earned the company a well-deserved Tech For Good award. The Games For The Weans campaign led to the hospital being the first in the UK (or Ireland) to have a full-time Gamer In Residence, to give young patients access to games consoles and the latest titles, as well as a Player two during their stay.

Korina Abbott Founder of Neonhive told the Scottish Games Network:

Over the past seven years, I’ve transformed Neonhive from a solo freelancer into a powerhouse team of 14. I’m excited to bring that expertise to CULT Games and propel them to even greater heights.

CULT Games, founded by Helen Burnill, former Group Vice President and Commercial Director of Mediatonic, has quickly established itself as a leading force in independent game publishing. With a focus on partnering with exceptional development studios, CULT Games has already achieved critical acclaim with titles like Galacticare and Go-Go Town!.

Helen Burnill, Founder and CEO of CULT Games, added:

We’ve tried playing small and it wasn’t for us. CULT is signing the best independent creative development studios on the planet – they deserve the best creative independent label who will go all-out for them.

This aggressive scale-up is our next move in becoming that team, meaning we are now signing even bigger and more ambitious games.

Collectively we care about games, we care about creators, we care about communities. Call it a Label, call it a Publisher – we have a lot of big plans. We’re building a CULT.”
