Outplay has reported an increase in pre-tax profits of £8.9 million and may be looking for new development studios for acquisition.
Playtech the online gambling company which owns YoYo Games, the Dundee-based creator of Game Maker Studio, has sold the company to an unnamed buyer, for $10 million, six years after it purchased the company for $16.4 million.
Hutch Games, which has a Dundee studio, has been purchased by Modern Times Group (MTG) for £375 million, with proceeds being shared with staff.
Take Two Interactive has acquired Dundee-based game development studio Ruffian Games and has rebranded it as Rockstar Dundee
Miniclip, the Swiss-based online games portal, has acquired mobile games studio Eight Pixels Square, from Outplay for an undisclosed sum. Scottish games technology company DeltaDNA has been bought by gaming giant Unity Technologies, for an undisclosed sum.
