Wardog Studios has revealed a stunning new logo and identity which the studio says better suits its values and goals – disruption, quality and ambition.
Since it was established in 2019, Edinburgh-based Wardog has established an international reputation as one of the world’s leading co-development and art studios, working with some of the biggest AAA titles in the world, including: Call of Duty (Black Ops 6, Modern Warfare 3, Warzone 2.0), Starfield, Hunt Showdown, Spectre Divide, Killing Floor III and Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds.
The studio prides itself on its company culture, which values, supports and continuously trains every member of the team. This approach was recognised in September 2024 when Wardog was one of only 11 small studios in the UK – and the only Scottish company – to receive a GamesIndustry.biz Great Places To Work award.
Wardog told the Scottish Games Network:
Wardog’s branding has always been at the heart of its success as we take an uncompromising approach to our visual identity. It’s been five years since Jade first conceived of starting an art studio and adapted the original logo from some of her personal works.
Thanks to our branding we were legitimised at launch and have never had to advertise. People recognised us through a strong marketing strategy that started six months prior to opening our doors.
Since 2019 the company has evolved and is unrecognisable from that first two years, and we felt our branding should reflect the journey we’ve had. Wardog is older, established, stronger and still adapting. An old dog, with new tricks.
At its core, Wardog stands for quality, disruption, and ambition, and we believe this is reflected in our new look. We wanted to avoid something generic or abstract – it needed to be bold, distinctive, with teeth. That’s what Wardog is all about: doing things our own way and always striving to improve.
Scott Baxter, Wardog’s Operations Director, added:
The re-brand represents a turning point for Wardog Studios and is a ceremonial representation of “out with the old, in with the new!” For a while now, Wardog has been on a process of renewal and consolidation, and the re-brand marks an important milestone for us on that journey.
