Indie-focused publisher Curve Games has partnered with Dundee’s 4J Studios to take over the publishing of two titles, Puny Astronaut’s award-winning Skye Tales and 4J’s own Manic Mechanics.
Curve will handle continued distribution, promotion and new global opportunities for each game.
Originally released in May 2023, Skye Tales, the wholesome, gentle exploration and puzzle game, received two trophies in the 2023 Scottish Games Awards (Best Art & Animation and Spirit of Scotland categories). The game is currently available on PC, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation.
Manic Mechanics, developed by 4J Studios and released in July 2023, is a fast-paced ‘repair-em-up’ for up to four players. It is available on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox.
Stuart Dinsey, the executive chairman of Curve Games, told the Scottish Games Network:
This is an exciting partnership for us as we widen our publishing-as-a-service arm, particularly focused on business development for high quality titles that have struggled for visibility, benefitting from our portfolio strength and partner network, especially in Asia.
4J Studios’ co-founder and chair Chris van der Kuyl added:
The team at Curve are perfectly placed to help us bring these titles to a wider audience across the world.
