Two of the biggest monsters in the world – Godzilla and King Kong will be hitting the big – and small – screens in March 2024, with the release of the blockbuster Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. Here’s a peek at the latest trailer…
To accompany the film’s release Elgin-based Hunted Cow has worked with publisher Tilting Point and movie studio Legendary to build the game Godzilla x Kong: Titan Chasers which will be initially released for mobile (you can pre-order on the Apple App Store now), with a PC release following later in 2024.
The monster mash-up is Hunted Cow’s first movie property, though the studio is behind a whole portfolio of titles including browser-based MMOs such as Eldevin and Fallen Sword, strategy titles including Operation New Earth and most recently, the studio’s first foray into the Warhammer universe: Chaos & Conquest.
Andrew Mulholland, the CEO of Hunted Cow told the Press & Journal:
The opportunity came through our publisher Tilting Point as they started talking to Legendary Pictures looking for IP.
The MonsterVerse came up potentially for a game and it snowballed from there. We have been working on the game for two years and it is exciting to reveal it. This is our first movie related game and it is the chance to put us on the map especially as everyone knows who King Kong and Godzilla are.
A couple of people in the studio really like the MonsterVerse including our Chief Creative Officer Louisa Gallie who is a big fan and she put a lot of effort into making sure the creatures look right.
It is surreal and I have enjoyed seeing people discuss the game online.
