Friday 26th May Marks The Second CTSG Event Taking Place In Edinburgh
On Friday 26th of May, the second Creative Tech Scotland Gathering event will take place at the University of Edinburgh. CTSG looks at technology through a creative lens and offers a new approach to understanding its use and application across every aspect of our creative world.
CTSG is an opportunity to meet, share and showcase the data-driven innovation and creative technology that is being developed in Scotland, and how it is being used across the wide range of disciplines in the creative industries to deliver innovative, engaging and technically advanced new experiences.
Organised by the excellent Caroline Parkinson, CTSG pulls in creative and technical talent from across the spectrum of the creative community. From demonstrations of new tech, to the opportunity to hear from the pioneers of the creative tech community, CTSG brings together practioners, creatives and technologists from every sector.
The programme includes an opening keynote from Richard Scott, the CEO of Axis Animation in Glasgow, creator of many of the cinematics for some of the world’s largest games and Toby Coffey, the Head of Immersive Storytelling, National Theatre, London. There are panels exploring new frontiers in areas such as performance and screen, as well as workshops in areas including music, heritage and virtual 3D ‘touch’.
The Scottish Games Network has curated and will be hosting a panel exploring new frontiers in interaction, with a panel of creators and designers from the worlds of games, dance, experiential, screen and beyond.
You can see the programme for the whole day here.
Caroline Parkinson, the creator and director of Creative Tech Scotland Gathering said:
On 26 May we will be delivering a day of talks, demos and panels with hybrid elements and a performance. Our aim is to bring people together from across the creative and cultural sector in every discipline to meet, connect, share know-how, be inspired by new innovations and be amazed by how we each use creative technology to deliver our services, products and audience experiences.
The in-progress programme includes opening and closing keynotes of new work from Scottish based creative innovators, a range of industry spotlights, in-depth workshops, and a showcase of creativetech demonstrations and talks, and a closing performance followed by drinks and of course, pizza!
We will host the Gathering on the University campus across the Informatics Forum, Bayes Centre and Inspace Gallery. It was a wonderful get-together and atmosphere last year and we hope you are able to join us for this year’s Gathering!
You can register to attend CTSG below. Tickets are available both in-person and to join the live stream.
