Edinbrawl, the annual large-scale fighting games event for Edinburgh, is running its second major tournament this May. Following a hugely successful debut in October last year, the tournament is back for round two, featuring four furious fighting games for competitors to do battle in.
Barroom Brawl
Edinbrawl is run by the organisers of Rushdown Edinburgh, Edinburgh’s premier fighting game community, who hold weekly tournaments in Bruntsfield’s Golf Tavern. Edinbrawl is a larger-scale version of those events, still taking place in the Golf Tavern, but with more money and pride on the line.
Competitors can face off in Street Fighter 3: Third Strike, Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, Guilty Gear -Strive-, or Tekken 7, with entry to the venue costing £6, and entry into each individual game costing a further £5 per game. All of the game entry fees will go towards the prize pool for the top three competitors in each game.

The event will take place on Saturday the 6th of May, with doors opening at 13:00, and battle commencing at 13:30. The entirety of the event will be streamed live on the Rushdown Edinburgh Twitch channel, and further information can be found on the Edinbrawl Twitter account.
Luke Symonds from Rushdown Edinburgh had this to say about the upcoming event: “Edinbrawl is a large-scale fighting game event, from the organisers of Rushdown Edinburgh. The aim of the event is to bring fighting game enthusiasts from all over the UK to play together and compete in our tournaments. Our first event in October was a huge success, and we aim to build and improve on that foundation to bring players the best offline tournament experience we can.”
