The BBC have just released Bugzy Malone’s Grandest Game, a new podcast discussing the legacy of the monumentally popular Grand Theft Auto series.
Presented by titular grime artist Bugzy Malone, and Radio 5’s Chris Warburton, the podcast delves into the history of a series which, while never exactly criminal, was never far from controversy either.
Long Way to the Top
Beginning with the story of the original game’s development, the podcast goes on to cover its explosive release, its rise to infamy across console generations, and the myriad controversies it found itself mired in as it rose to become one of the most successful media franchises of all time.
Interspersed within this larger narrative are personal anecdotes from Malone, discussing what the series means to him, and the role it played in his life during his formative years.
You can check out the entire series for free on the BBC Sounds website here.
