Games Jobs LIVE

UPDATE (01/06/2020 – 13:00) – New employers listed. 4J Studios, Blazing Griffin and Wardog Collective.

Looking for a job in the Scottish games industry? Games Jobs LIVE is for you.

Games Jobs LIVE is here to help. It’s an hour long live stream featuring multiple Scottish studios which are now hiring. You’ll have a chance to hear from each of them, ask questions on dedicated chat channels and apply directly.

Organised by the ever awesome Colin Macdonald, Games Jobs LIVE will give Scottish studios the first chance to pitch collectively for new staff, in around 6-7 years.

It’s a chance not to be missed.

You’ll hear from each studio which is hiring. About their company culture, how their teams work and the projects they’re recruiting for.

Games Jobs LIVE takes place on Wednesday July 1st at 4pm UK time. It’s free to register and will be streamed live and online.

Studios already confirmed are:

Outplay and Tag Games should be familiar to everyone aspiring to work within the games sector. Both Dundee studios have produced hugely successful mobile games, from hyper casual through to more challening titles.

Rivet, 4J, and Puny Astronaut may not be so familiar. Rivet Games produces a lot of content for simulation games from their studio in Stirling. Puny Astronaut, is a relatively young studio, also based in Dundee, which is working on its first title: Skye Tails. While it’s yet to release anything, the company received backing from Chris van der Kuyl and Paddy Burns (of 4J Studios fame), which shows a studio with serious plans for the future.

Speech Graphics is a technology company, rather than a game developer, which produces world-class facial animation software, used in everything from music videos to triple-A games (including Gears of War 5 and Fortnite).

Wardog Collective we will admit, was new to us. According to the studio: “Wardog is a specialist hard-surface art outsource company, dedicated to producing high quality assets for games & film.” With a team history including EA, Unity, DICE and Activision, this could be a perfect opportunity for the artists and modellers out there.

If you’re recruiting and would like to take part in the first ever Games Jobs Live, then get in touch with Mr Macdonald directly.

You can sign up NOW on Eventbrite (and follow Colin while you’re at it, he’s doing some great things…)
