Paul Durrant, the Founder and Chief Executive of the UK Games Fund, said:
“Dundee was our natural choice to pilot the UK Games Fund Awards. The city’s game development heritage together with its cultural renaissance this year have been key reasons to choose Dundee as the location for this year’s Awards ceremony.
“We’re offering something different to the well-established and highly-regarded games awards programmes that do a fantastic job already.
“The UK Games Fund Awards offer us a chance to focus on the talent across the UK’s very early stage games development studios that are part of our community. To celebrate the achievements of these fledgling companies we’re bringing them to a city that has been widely flagged as this year’s hot destination.
“Our partnership with DC Thomson Media provides a fabulous opportunity to capitalise on Dundee’s games and media legacy.”
