Blazing Griffin, the Edinburgh-based game development studio has announced that the company is expanding to incorporate film and post-production capabilities to the company.
The company’s ambition is to become one of the country’s first truly transmedia creators, creating worlds and stories which span film, games, comics and more.
The new film division will be run by BAFTA award-winning producer Naysun Alae-Carew as Executive Producer and Nicholas Crum as Producer. The post-production division will be run by Managing Director David Frew and Post Production Supervisor Charlotte Walsh, both of whom bring years of TV post-production experience to the company including work on titles such as Outlander, Shetland, Fried and Waterloo Road.
Managing Director, Peter van der Watt, says:
I moved to Scotland because of the talent that is known to exist here and the great deal of support available to businesses from the likes of Scottish Enterprise, SDI and Creative Scotland. One can create sustainable, fast-growing entertainment companies that retain much of the local environment’s flair.
Blazing Griffin has several film projects in the pipeline, including partnerships with Vertigo Films, SC Films, The Salt Company, XYZ Films and Forward Films, which will be announced in the near future.
Congratulations guys. We can’t wait to hear more…
