The awards ceremony for the 2014 TIGA awards took place last night, with hundreds of developers in the finery, competing for a variety of prestigious awards, covering games from studios large and small, as well as a broad range of business focused trophies.
Three Scottish companies walked away with prizes. So congratulate:
- Best Arcade Game (Large Studio) for Minecraft Console Edition
- Game Of The Year (Chosen by public vote) Minecraft Console Edition
- Best Student Game for Seek
- Best Animation Supplier
Dr. Richard Wilson, TIGA CEO, commented:
Huge congratulations to all of tonight’s winners as well as everyone that made it on to the shortlist. It is incredibly rewarding to see how positively the UK video game community responds to the TIGA Awards and the opportunity to gain recognition for their achievements and showcase their work. The standard of entries also continues to go up year after year, so well done to everyone that entered and made our judges lives so difficult! The 2014 Awards have totally surpassed our expectations. We have broken our record again for the number of individual Game Of The Year votes, we have had 25 per cent more people come along on the night and most importantly, we had 50 per cent more entries this year than last. I would like to thank all of our event sponsors and partners, as well as everyone who has supported the awards. I look forward to the UK videogame community once more entering the fray in 2015.
