BAFTA Scotland’s New Talent awards is an annual competition which recognises work from students, or those just entering the film, television and games industries.
The competition has categories for actors, animators, sound designers, writers, directors, producers and of course game developers.
New Talent is a unique celebration of emerging talent within the screen industries. It’s unique within BAFTA and one of the few competitions in the world which recognises that students, graduates and new entrants within the world of film, television and games can be creative, innovative and productive.
The nominees for the 2014 competition have been announced and the three games in the running for this year’s award are:
- 9.03M (Space Budgie)
A first person game which aims to commemorate and humanise the victims of the 2011 Japanese Tsunami
- ATTACK OF THE GHASTLY GREY MATTER (Milksteak and the Jellybeans)
Created as part of the 2013 Dare to be Digital Competition. A B-movie themed endless runner, featuring ALIENS! COWS! and FUN!
- LUB VS DUB (Futuro)

The winner will be announced at the awards ceremony, which takes place in Glasgow on March 25th 2014.
