TIGA Awards Finalists Announced

UPDATE: It’s been brought to our attention we missed a couple of key Scottish finalists out.  Stormcloud games were also nominated in the Most Original Game category, while ALL of the entries in the Best Student Game category are Scottish, with teams coming from Abertay University.

TIGA, The Independent Game developers Association has announced the finalists in its 2013 competition.  Several Scottish companies appear in the list this year, covering a number of categories…

  • Best Arcade Game (small studio) – Gentlemen, Lucky Frame
  • Best Audio In A Game  – Wave Trip, Lucky Frame
  • Best Casual Game (small studio) – Mr Shingu’s Paper Zoo, Stormcloud
  • Best Debut Game – Mr Shingu’s Paper Zoo, Stormcloud
  • Best Game With A Purpose – 9.03m, Space Budgie
  • Best Game Design – Solar Flux, Firebrand
  • Most Original Game – Zeds Play Your Dreams, Chunk
  • Most Original Game – Mr Shingu’s Paper Zoo, Stormcloud
  • Best Student Game – Brain Ops, Axon Games
  • Best Student Game – Far From Home, Linear Curve Games
  • Best Student Game – Wee Paper PlanesPixel Blimp
  • Best Student Game – 9.03m, Space Budgie

In the business categories the following Scottish companies (and organisations are finalists)…

The awards take place on November 6th at Pinewood Studios, following TIGA’s developer conference earlier the same day.

Congratulations to all of the finalists.  We’re looking forward to welcoming more silverware, trophies and awards to Scotland in the next month.

You can still vote in the game of the year category.  Entries are open until 21st October.
