Peter van der Linden, Evangelist at Immersion, San Jose – creators and distributors of haptic effects for Android game developers, will be in Dundee on Monday 24th June.
Peter told us:
The focus of the talk will be a briefing on how Android game developers can easily add haptic effects to their games, using a free library from Immersion (free to download and free of royalty charges – we make our money from hardware OEMs). 45 minutes is the usual run time, including questions. There’s nothing for iOS developers – they are welcome to attend of course – because Apple locks down the vibration motor API, so 3rd party software can’t control it the way we do on Android
Yoyo Games has very kindly offered to host the event in its brand new office at Dundee One, 5 West Victoria Dock Road, Dundee, DD1 3JT. Start time is 5pm for 5.30pm. Pizza will be supplied courtesy of Immersion.
Some examples of Peter’s work can be seen at the Immersion blog site: http://blog.immersion.com
Places are limited so if you or your staff want to attend please let me have names.
