YoYo Games Expanding, Recruiting New Staff, Moving To New Office

YoYoGames_logo_bgDundee’s YoYo Games, the company behind the rather awesome Game Maker software has announced that it is expanding.

YoYo currently employs 25 people, but is looking for around 25 more to help the company keep pace with the rapid evolution of the global games market and demand for Game Maker: Studio, which YoYo claims is the world’s most popular game development software.

The roles will be mostly in systems development, software engineering, sales and customer service.

Dundee-office-WatersideTo accomodate this expansion, YoYo is moving from its current location within Abertay university, to swish new offices on Dundee’s regenerated waterfront.

YoYo’s outspoken CEO, Sandy Duncan told the BBC:

“The business is growing rapidly and we need top quality flexible office space that will reflect the scale of our ambitions whilst providing our staff with an environment in which they can continue to do great work.  We are delighted with Dundee – the quality of staff coming out of the universities and colleges is outstanding and has been core to our success. This move into Dundee Waterfront and the DundeeOne building will allow us to accelerate our growth plans and hopefully create further high quality employment opportunities.”

YoYo Games has ambitious plans within the education sector as well as publishing an increasing number of titles across all current platforms.

Congratulations to YoY0, we’re looking forward to hearing more about the company’s plans and successes in the near future.
