Are you an aspiring game designer or developer?  Do you want to take your ideas and bring them to life, as part of an actual real world business?  Now there’s a faster, simpler way to get the sort of inside knowledge and insight which eludes some companies entirely.

Dare+ is a new programme, created by the team behind the Dare to be Digital competition and supported by Creative Scotland and the University of Abertay in Dundee.

Dare+ is looking for 20 creative individuals and would be entrepreneurs – either individuals or teams – who are looking for business support, mentoring and help to create a new company.

The programme runs from the 16th of July – 12th of August and includes three days at the Dare to be Digital Protoplay event, taking place in Dundee from August 10th-12th).  This is a day-residential programme with accommodation provided by Abertay University.  Dare + is FREE to successful applicants.

The programme is led by Brian McNicoll, one of the founders of the BAFTA-winning development studio Dynamo Games.

The programme promises to deliver help, advice, support and expertise on every aspect of starting a creative business, from concept creation through to business planning, investment and protecting intellectual property.

The goal of the programme is for individuals or teams to emerge with a prototype game, business plan and ideas of how to move forward.

You do NOT have to be a resident of Scotland to participate, but you do have to be over the age of 18.

You can find out more over on the Dare+ web page.

Applications close on July 6th 2012.  So get moving.
