Over in Dundee’s famous Discovery Point, the first International AppConference and AppJam are taking place. The conference has a full line-up of speakers across all the various app platforms and covering everything from games, to lawyers, publishers and possibly even a platform owner (one of which per day may keep a doctor away – the organisers are being rather cagey) or two.
This afternoon you can see Waracle’s Mike Wharton, talking about cloud computing. Loretta Maxfield from Thorntons law, looking at intellectual property protection and David Hamilton from Digital Goldfish, looking at the evolution of the mobile games market and the opportunities offered by the emerging App markets.
The AppJAM is a 48 hour development competition, which is running alongside the conference. Thirteen teams are participating and creating an impressively varied range of apps. The AppJam blog has information on all of the various teams and their projects.
There’s also live Tweeting going on at Discovery Point, which you can follow online.
