We’re delighted to announce the Early Access launch of Out & About, the debut title from Yaldi Games. This is a fantastic achievement for founder Elena Höge and her team.
Out & About is a cosy, educational life-sim, where players can learn to identify real-world plants, forage for ingredients, and craft recipes. The game has already received positive attention from PC Gamer, which called it “exactly what I want from a foraging game,” and a “lovely, cosy experience.”
The game invites players into a peaceful, natural world. Armed with a helpful guide, you will explore the landscape, learn to distinguish valuable plants from their lookalikes, and gather them to create everything from delicious meals to useful remedies in your customisable cottage. More than just a game, Out & About is an interactive celebration of nature and a wealth of genuinely useful real-world botanical knowledge.
A Founder’s Vision
Yaldi Games, founded by Elena Höge, a graduate of the University of Edinburgh, aims to create wholesome games that empower players with real-world knowledge. Since it was founded, the studio has secured support and funding from a wide range of partners, including the UK Games Fund, Scottish Edge competition, Converge Challenge, Innovate UK, Epic MegaGrants and Social Shifters.
Having now released the game on Early Access is a huge achievement for a new independent studio and its first title.

Launching in Early Access is a crucial step, and Yaldi is now inviting the community to be a part of the game’s development journey. The current version features the core gameplay loop and the first explorable region. By joining now, players can provide vital feedback that will help shape the future of the game as Yaldi Games works towards the full release, which will include more regions, seasons, areas, plants, recipes, characters, and quests.
