Scottish Games Network – Launch Events

SGN 001It’s been nearly a month since I announced the launch of the Scottish Games Network as the country’s industry body.  Since then things have become a little busy.  Around 700 e-mails congratulating me on the launch, companies and organisations how they join and other asking what specifically the SGN will do.

Now’s the time to tell. I’ve got stacks of ideas about what the SGN can do to help the games sector in Scotland – and beyond.  From the website, research and data on the games sector, partnerships with the major public sector bodies, special interest groups, outreach to the wider creative world, news, updates, publishing, funding, events, education and business – there’s a LOT we can do.

But this is all about collaboration, communication and consensus.  I want to hear from you.  I want to make the SGN the most effective pioneering and useful trade body in the whole wide world of gaming.

So I’m going on the road.  There are two events coming up in Dundee and Edinburgh (Glasgow is coming soon), where I want to hear from you – the games industry.

The dates are:

Dundee, November 13th (Drouthy’s, Perth Road) – 5:30pm for 6pm (in association with Digital Dundee)

Edinburgh, November 14th (TechCube, Summerhall) 7:30pm

Glasgow, TBC

These events are FREE and open to ALL of the companies involved in the games sector.  Not just developers, but tech companies, freelancers, contractors, recruiters, audio specialists, universities, colleges, public and private sector organisations, you name it…

So, come one, come all.  This is your chance to provide input, give feedback, ask questions and help the creation and evolution of the Scottish Games Network.

You can sign up – for free – on EventBrite – for Dundee or Edinburgh.

We’ll see you there.

Brian
