CONPULSION – Games Con, Edinburgh, This Weekend

Direct from Scottishgames partner SQUARE-GO.COM:

Conpulsion is Scotland’s premier games convention and has been running under that name for the past 15 years but has existed in various forms for the past 25, acting as a community hub for Scottish gamers and visitors from across the world.

At its roots, Conpulsion is predominately concerned with tabletop roleplaying but as times change the convention has changed with them and now incorporates and facilitates all facets of gaming and gaming culture, including video-gaming with Jonathan Sykes and Brian McDonald from Scottish Game Jam attending and showing off games developed in their 48 hour events. Also Tom Welsh from calmdowntom.com will be doing a podcast with some regulars as well as Conpulsion organisers and guests.

Conpulsion 2011 will be held on the evening of Fri 25th, and the weekend 26th and 27th March 2011 at Teviot Row House Students Union, Bristo Square, Edinburgh. The building itself containing a combination of open halls, bars and smaller, more intimate rooms in the setting of the oldest purpose built Students Union building in the world. It is a unique and highly apt venue allowing a variety of different types of event, providing ample opportunities for those attending to sample a variety of gaming experiences.

Conpulsion organiser, Sandy Ryalls, told SquareGo, “We’re delighted to have Scottish Games Jam joining the Conpulsion experience and Jonathan Sykes has also agreed to speak on our panel about game design.”
